Morphéis: The Best Anchor Alarm Frequently Asked Questions

If you can’t find your answer here, our support team is happy to help.

Can my buoy be stolen?

Firstly, if the buoy moves by even a few meters, it will trigger an alarm on the receiver unit on your boat and you will receive an SMS alert. A thief therefore won’t get far without you being warned.

Secondly, each Morphéis buoy unit is uniquely paired with its receiver: a stolen buoy cannot be used on its own.

If your anchor drags in an area with no network coverage, you will at least be warned on board. The buoy–boat link uses a radio signal, like your VHF, which does not require a mobile phone signal to transmit.
Yes. By pulling on the line, you can free an anchor jammed under a rock, just like with a conventional tripping line.

Safety & precision: Morphéis monitors the position of the anchor, not the boat. It is therefore far more precise than a boat-mounted GPS. Its reaction time is shorter, significantly enhancing your safety.

Simplicity: Morphéis is a 100% autonomous system requiring no prior setup (initial position, swing radius, etc.). By adopting it, you gain a simple and completely reliable solution to monitor your anchorage day and night.

Energy: Thanks to solar power and monitoring specifically designed for anchoring, Morphéis consumes very little energy and does not draw on your boat’s batteries.

At nightfall, Morphéis automatically detects the drop in light levels and begins flashing so as to be visible to other sailors. You’ll never again have the unpleasant surprise of discovering another boat has crossed your chain in the morning!
How is the “buoy” electronic unit attached to Morphéis?

The unit is secured to the buoy using very powerful magnets, making any accidental detachment impossible.

In addition, the whole assembly can be further secured using the supplied soft shackle.

25 m. We recommend a maximum operating depth of 22 m.

The buoy has unlimited autonomy as it recharges using sunlight. However, if light is insufficient, it will operate for 48 hours on battery power.

The receiver unit on board has a battery life of 72 hours. Both electronic units recharge using the supplied inductive charger.
